CSATS works collaboratively with scientists and engineers at Penn State and with industries to design, develop, and implement many outreach programs and workshops for K-16 education.
Have your students try their luck at the PA KidWind Challenge! Students incorporate engineering and science to build powerful small-scale wind turbines and compete with students from around the state to generate the most electricity. Be creative, have fun, and apply your knowledge of wind energy to win!
Advanced Self-Powered Systems of Integrated Sensors and Technologies (ASSIST) is an NSF-funded Nanosystems Engineering Research Center that partners with scientists, engineers, and science educators from North Carolina State University, Florida International University, University of Virginia. During a 6-week research experience, students will have the opportunity to work alongside engineerings in nano-scale engineering research labs at Penn State.
Join us at Penn State University to uncover the diversity of geology and how you can become a scientist in one of the many fields of geoscience. Spend a day on campus with scientists, graduate, and undergraduate students from the College of Earth and Mineral Sciences to learn more about women working in the geosciences. This event showcases the diverse fields of geoscience and provides youth with the opportunity to learn about the women that are currently conducting research in the geosciences.
