CSATS Summer Research Experiences for STEM Teachers is designed as an immersion experience in a research setting in the field, academia or in industry. Our program aims to supports teachers who are committed to engaging in extended research experiences and to integrating the practices of science and engineering into their classrooms, schools, and districts.
- Teachers will engage in science and/or engineering research and contribute as a member of a research team during 6 weeks in the summer. Teachers will receive a $5000 stipend for their experience.
- Teachers will develop a classroom research project (CLRP) during weekly professional development workshops facilitated by CSATS to translate their experience into the classroom. Teachers will receive a $1500 stipend for the implementation of their CLRP. Online follow up and support will be provided during the academic year to assist you as you implement the CLRP.
- Teachers will have the opportunity to present their research and classroom research projects (CLRP) at the MJ Murdock Partners in Science Conference in San Diego in January 2020. Teachers will receive some travel expenses to attend.
