As computers become more sophisticated and data storage becomes increasingly important in our lives, security threats that could compromise these systems also become more serious. Efforts to counteract these threats are essential to protecting our personal information, securing our data, and mitigating malicious physical and digital damage. Exploring cybersecurity challenges can be an excellent way for students to learn about how computers work and process information and how that knowledge can be leveraged to create more secure systems. This multi-day workshop will teach teachers the basics of electronics and computer hardware and prepare teachers to teach principles of physical and digital cybersecurity, culminating with a challenge to attack and defend computer systems. All teachers are welcome, but content will be most applicable for Computer Science, Tech Ed, Physics, and Robotics teachers.
